As one of the key sponsors of the China Team at The America's Cup, Lladró were proud to invite three journalists to Valencia to experience the most exciting sailing race in the world first hand and visit the beautiful Lladró head quarters.
We were joined on the trip by Gabby Deeming from House & Garden, freelance stylist Susannah Powell and Lars Lensing-Hebben from Midas magazine.
As part of the trip we were given an exclusive tour of the Lladró factory, where we saw the porcelain being made by hand, painted by Lladró's team of hugely talented artists and embellished with tiny flowers, each fashioned individually by a highly skilled flower-maker. After an exclusive viewing of the Lladró family's extensive art collection, we were given the opportunity to see the newest additions to the Utopia collection.
After having the very first look at the Jaime Hayón Lladró Fragrance collection, the group was introduced to the Chinese Dragon collection, a lifestyle focused range designed especially for the America's Cup and featuring white porcelain highlighted with gold detailing.
That evening, we had a wonderful dinner in the VIP room at the Lladró factory. The stunning white room was gently lit by Fairy Wall Lamps and the ethereal candle beakers from the ReCylos II Collection, a sight which showed how the new ranges from Lladró can be used in contemporay interiors to breathtaking effect.
The following day was spent on a yacht on the open waves off the coast of Valencia, watching the China team race the Italians in a nail-biting heat of the America's Cup.
As a result of the trip, the Chinese Dragon collection has been featured in The Guardian and is due to appear in House & Garden. Midas magazine will show an in-depth feature on High Porcelain in the September issue.
